Empty Nester Support Group

After the last child leaves for college, mothers often find themselves with a unique opportunity to reinvent themselves. That’s not always so simple. It can be challenging to find other ways to occupy newly free time.  It‘s sometimes difficult to reconnect with a spouse, let alone develop a new kind of relationship with a child   But perhaps what is most problematic is the  lack of sympathy from people who believe that parents should be happy when their children leave home.
A six-session support group to help empty nester parents deal with these issues will be held on Wednesdays, beginning Feb. 6, 12 noon – 1:15 p.m. at Jewish Family Service, One Holly Hill Lane.  For information call Lisa Smith  at JFS203-622-1881 or email llsmith@jfsgreenwich.org
