David Schwartz, 90, of West Hartford died Dec. 7. He was the husband of Selma Milkofsky. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of Benny and Tillie (Mehlman) Schwartz. He served in the U.S. Army in Battery C of the 544th Field Artillery during the liberation of Luzon, for which he was awarded the President’s Unit Citation. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Sylvia Horowitz of Florida; his children, Gerald Schwartz and wife Janet of New Britain, and Jonathan Schwartz and wife Janet of Burlington; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Rebecca, and Andrew; and his step-grandchildren, Casey Hubelbank and his wife Jennifer, and Buffy Hubelbank. He was also predeceased by his brother, George.
