Sidney Salowitz, 89 of West Hartford and Delray Beach, Fla., died Dec. 8. He was the husband of Shirly (Korman) Salowitz. Raised in New Haven and later West Hartford, he was the son of the late Jacob and Rose Salowitz. He served in the Military Police during World War II and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans – Post #45. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Susan and Randi Salowitz; his daughter-in-law Lynn Salowitz; and his grandchildren, Adam Salowitz and Erica and Marc Tardiff; his sister Dorothy (George) Saxton; his brother-in-law Jerome Korman; and his sister-in-law Lola Salowitz. He was also predeceased by his son Mark Salowitz, his sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Lester Fledman, his brother Morris Salowitz, sister-in-law Bunny Korman, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Fannie and Morris Korman and Randi’s long time companion Michael Lapierre.
