ZIMMER
Anne B. Zimmer, age 97, widow of Emanuel Zimmer, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at home at the Carlisle of Palm Beach in Lantana, Fla. Born in Port Talbot, Wales, the daughter of the late Israel and Esther (Fellman) Bowman, she came to this country as an infant. A graduate of Bridgeport (now Central) High School, she attended Hunter College completing her college degree 20 years later at Southern Connecticut State University. Anne was active for many years in Hadassah serving as president of her local chapter. She also served several terms on the national board of the American Technion Society. In her later years she joined Congregation Beth El of Fairfield, a move which thoroughly enriched her life. Anne was a wonderful card player and made many friends at the bridge, canasta and mah jongg tables. She had a marvelous sense of humor and a sunny outlook. Anne was predeceased by her adoring husband Manny, and by her beloved brothers Harry and Jack Bowman. She leaves her children Marylin and Arthur Noll, David and Joan Zimmer, George Zimmer; her grandchildren, Leigh and Gregory Farber, Cindy and Daniel Katzeff, Jeffrey and Julie Noll, Lisa Lisser, Stephanie and Alan Bonder, Amy and Kenneth Simon, Alexandra and Thomas Chaffanjon and Andrew and Melissa Zimmer. She leaves 15 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, Carly, Andrew, Coby, Marley, Noah, Cara, Jessica, Rebecca, Rachel, Hannah, Jason, Noah, and Mya. She also leaves several nieces and nephews including her devoted and treasured nephews and nieces, Jonathan and Elaine Bowman, Andrew and Marian Bowman and their children and grandchildren who brought so much joy to her life. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Palm Beach County for their wonderful care in the last weeks of Anne’s life.
