Elections 2012: Americans in Israel lean towards Romney

(JNS.org) As the Nov. 6 election approaches, American citizens living Israel have begun to cast absentee ballots in record numbers, with many reportedly voicing support for Republican Mitt Romney. According to a poll released by the Begin-Sadat Center last summer, Israelis are looking less kindly at the president than previously.

160,000 eligible American voters in Israel
30,000 Americans in Israel voted in 2008
75,000 Americans in Israel are expected to vote in 2012
23% of Israelis expressed a negative attitude towards Obama (up from 14 percent in a 2009 survey).
60% of Israelis described their attitude towards Obama as positive in 2009
38% of Israelis describe their attitude towards Obama as positive in the current poll
