Julius (“Julie”) Leon Podheiser of Hamden, formerly of West Haven and Woodbridge, died July 19.  He was the husband of Thelma (“Temmy”). Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he grew up in New Haven. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother Albert Podheiser of Hamden; his children, Linda Podheiser of Cambridge, Mass., and James Podheiser and his wife Nancy Axelrod, of Haddonfield, N.J.; and four grandchildren, Alexander Shaw, and Lucy, Daniel and Miriam Podheiser.
