More than 320 people turned out to hear producer and author Richard Cohen and his wife, former NBC Today Show co-host Meredith Vieira, deliver the keynote address at the 2012 Women Against MS Luncheon on Monday, May 21 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Greenwich. A native of West Hartford, Cohen was an Emmy Award-winning news producer when he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis more than 35 years ago. His father, who was a physician in West Hartford, also battled the disease. Cohen has chronicled his life battling chronic illness in the book, “Blindsided.” The couple, who were joined by NBC’s Kathie Lee Gifford and her husband, former sportscaster Frank Gifford, also accepted the Georgina B. Davids Award from Lisa Gerrol of West Hartford, who is director of the Connecticut chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
