Thomas S. Durica, 90, died June 23, 2012 at the Glastonbury Health Care Center in Glastonbury. He was the beloved husband of Elinor Durica for 65 years. Mr. Durica was born in Czechoslovakia, a son of the late Thomas and Frances Durica. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country during World War II. He was a pharmacist, and was the proprietor of the Durica Pharmacy of Bridgeport for many years, and continued to practice in Fairfield. Mr. Durica loved gardening and was a dedicated bird watcher. He was a long time member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom. Besides his wife, survivors include his loving children Jon Durica and his wife Wendy of Pound Ridge, N.Y., David Durica and his wife Shery of Norman, Okla., and Meryl Berger and her husband Michael of Glastonbury, his grandchildren Shana, Aliza, Joshua, Sarah, Shira, and Noah, his great-grandchildren Charlotte and Lucas and his sister Mary Winfield of Fairfield. Services were held on June 25, 2012 in Fairfield, with interment at Loyalty Cemetery. Shiva is observed at the home of Meryl and Michael Berger in Glastonbury.
