K’tanim kids “travel” to Israel

The four-year-old class at Congregation Beth El’s K’tanim preschool in Fairfield waved goodbye and took off on a (pretend) trip to Israel recently, just in time to celebrate the Jewish state’s 64th birthday. Students prepared for their trip by building an El Al plane, creating luggage and passports, and reading stories about Israel. After arriving at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, they took a dip in the Dead Sea, wrote messages to put in the Kotel and rode (wooden) camels in the desert. Before heading for home, everyone toasted Israel with birthday cake.
