Ridgefield cantor releases CD

“Passover Seder Songs” by Cantor Deborah Katchko-Gray

Cantor Deborah Katchko-Gray grew up singing around a seder table crowded with friends and family, led by her father, Cantor Theodore Katchko, and ably assisted by her mother Rita.

“ My fondest memories around the seder table are of singing – my father would lead us with great spirit and we would all join in,” recalls Katchko-Gray, who is cantor at Temple Shearith Israel in Ridgefield. Now Katchko-Gray has recreated the warmth and spirit of her family’s seder table – and sharing it with the community — in a new CD entitled “Passover Seder Songs.” The CD includes original arrangements using cello, guitar and lush harmonies. Jay Heffler, South Salem, N.Y. of Hal Prince Music added extra guitar magic and Wayne Warnecke of Peaceful Waters Music studio Pound Ridge, NY added percussion as well as his expert recording, mixing and mastering.
