A team of four students from the Jewish High School of Connecticut (JHSC) in Bridgeport was recognized for its achievement in the ExploraVision competition organized by the National Science Teachers Association and sponsored by Toshiba. The competition asked students to discuss a technology relevant to the world today and then imagine that same technology 20 years from now. The JHSC students – Miriam and Eva Gerber, Batsheva Labowe-Stoll and Talia Weseley – received an “honorable mention” for their submission of a Repliprinter, in which 3D objects are created similar to printing images on paper. JHSC was one of only two Connecticut high schools that had teams selected to take part in the competition, which included 5,000 teams nationwide.
