Students at the Temple B’nai Chaim religious school in Georgetown learned all about the rituals and traditions of Jewish weddings at the recent mock wedding of Luiza Goncalves and Spencer Taylor — two teens who are madrichim (group leaders) at the school. An interactive learning experience, the students took on a variety of roles — such as that of officiating clergy, wedding party members or guests. Of course, even at a wedding that’s mock, gifts are in order – and so, each student arrived at the school with an item of warm clothing that will be given to the homeless of New York City during the annual Confirmation Class Midnight Run on Feb. 24. After the ceremony, hora dancing and wedding cake were enjoyed by all!
