The gift of giving

Margaret Kahn wrapped Chanukah gifts from JCSO, with help from her granddaughters, Jennifer and Rebecca.

It was that time of year again for the Jewish Children’s Service Organization (JCSO)…that time of year when the volunteer charitable organization gives out Chanukah gifts to Jewish children from families in need.  This year, JCSO was happy to provide presents for 47 children ages 7 months to 22 years in the greater Hartford area.  JCSO volunteers purchased the gifts – toys, games, books and more —  then wrapped them up, together with Chanukah gelt and additional items donated by the Bess and Paul Sigel Hebrew Academy in Bloomfield and the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford, and delivered them all to the Jewish Family Service in West Hartford. JCSO is funded solely by membership and donations. For information on how you can help JCSO help children in need contact Ursula Marx at (860) 521-8187.
