Optical Alternatives offers Ronit Furst "Israeli Eye Candy"

The Ronit Furst Collection at Optical Alternatives, Fairfield

For your eyes: The Ronit Furst Collection.
Opticians Glenn Bemus and Dorothy Reynolds have discovered how to attract attention to their shop, Optical Alternatives in Fairfield – by placing artist Ronit Furst’s eyewear in their window. “People stop outside of our store and look through the window,” Bemus said. “It’s real eye candy for the store.”
Originally a ceramicist, Furst became known in Israel and beyond during the mid-’80s for her decorative crockery. In 2002, frustrated with the available range of eyeglass frames, the artist began creating eyewear, each handpainted in exuberant colors and patterns. The line, now carried in upscale shops around the world, now includes some 35 styles and color combinations. While most are designed for women, Optical Alternatives also carries styles for men and kids.
“We had unique glasses already, but this rounds it all out for us because of the colors, the styles, and the boldness of the line,” says Bemus. “No two frames will ever be the same and you can design your own color and style combination.”
Optical Alternatives is located at 2480 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT 06825-2400. Call them at (203) 372-2010
