BLOOMFIELD — Tumble Brook Country Club recently presented Komen Connecticut with a check for $85,000, raised in June through the club’s annual ‘Play for a Cure’ golf tournament. The money raised is used by Komen Connecticut to help fund national breast cancer research and local breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs across the state. “We are thrilled to announce that we have raised $85,000 this year, especially considering the current state of the economy,” said tournament founder Diane Greenfield, who noted that the 14-year old tournament has now raised more than $1.26 million for Komen Connecticut’s fight against breast cancer.
