Supporters of The Jewish Home celebrated the achievements of Weston resident Dorothy (“Dood”) Nevas Freedman and Bridgeport resident Ginger Speicher at the Women’s Auxiliary 2011 Fall Gala, held on Sunday evening, Oct. 30 at Rockrimmon Country Club in Stamford. Co-chaired by sisters Peri Cook and Tara Cook-Littman, both of Fairfield, the evening was truly a night to remember.
The Home’s chairperson, Bill Sims, presented Freedman with the Arthur and Gladys Lunin Humanitarian Award; and Cheryl Shulman of Stamford presented the Louis Lotstein Award for Distinguished Service to Speicher, a Home volunteer for more than 20 years. The award was established by Shulman’s late mother Corrine in memory of Shulman’s late father.
“For decades, Dood and Ginger have given their support to the residents of The Jewish Home,” said Andrew H. Banoff, president and CEO of the Home. “Presenting these significant awards gives everyone the opportunity to thank them personally and publicly.”
The evening raised $100,000 that will be used to support the Home’s programs and services.
