Cantor Kenneth Cohen in Bloomfield

Beth Hillel Synagogue of Bloomfield has announced that Hazzan Kenneth Cohen of Honolulu, Hawaii will be guest cantor for the High Holidays.
A graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz, Cohen is completing a Masters in ethnomusicology at the University of Hawaii.  He has been a cantor at Synagogues in Honolulu and is presently “Hawaii Hazzan,” serving unaffiliated congregations around the Hawaiian Islands.
In 2000-2001, he was a grantee of the Hawaii State Foundation on culture and the arts.  He was named “Master Fold Artist” for outstanding teaching and performance of traditional and contemporary Jewish music.
