Shirley Kaplan, 88, of West Hartford, died Sept. 24. She was a life member of Hadassah and JCSO and was on the board of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Hebrew Home. Shirley was a life-long member of The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford. She devoted her later life as a caregiver to her late mother, Rebecca “Betty” Kaplan, and her late two aunts, Gertrude Nitkin and Ethel Weinberg. She is survived by her cousins, Suzanne Yarmitzky , Marci Greenberg and David Yarmitzky.
