Howard R. Zern has been elected executive vice president of Simsbury Bank, it was announced recently by Martin J. Geitz, the bank’s president and CEO. Zern serves as leader of the bank’s retail, operations and technology units.
“Under Howard’s leadership, our consumer customer base and deposits have grown significantly,” said Geitz in announcing Zern’s promotion. We have introduced many new products and services to meet our customers’ changing needs. We have also implemented operating process changes that improve the customer experience and our productivity. Howard and his team have found many ways to keep up with our customers’ demand for excellent in-person service and technology-based solutions.”
Mr. Zern’s career in financial services has spanned more than 30 years during which he served in a variety of senior managerial roles in merger integrations, branch banking administration, market management, employment and corporate training at Hartford National Bank and its successors including Bank of America. He has also held leadership positions with several not-for-profit organizations, including vice chairman of TheaterWorks in Hartford, treasurer of the Artists Collective in Hartford and chairman of the Urban League of Greater Hartford.
