The Jewish Community Foundation has announced the award of two grants for two innovative programs that address a substantial community need and produce benefits that are likely to endure beyond the period of Foundation funding.
A $10,000 grant was awarded to the Hebrew Home and Hospital to add a Jewish component to A Fresh Canvas, a program that provides art therapy, exercise and social programming for clients and residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
A $6,730 grant was awarded to the Mandell Jewish Community Center to create a regional Jewish community chorus. The chorus will be based on the national model developed by the Zamir Choral Foundation.
