Rabbi Yehoshua and Freida Hecht of Norwalk announce the marriage of their son Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hecht to Brochie Katz, daughter of Rabbi Michael and Mesoddy Katz of Illovo, Johannesburg, South Africa.
The bride is a graduate of Chabad Ladies Seminary of Montreal, Canada.  She holds a degree in physical therapy from University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. She plans to pursue a career in physical therapy in the metro New York area. Her father serves as spiritual leader of the Chabad of Illovo community in Johannesburg. Her mother is director of the Illovo Jewish Preschool.
The groom earned his rabbinical degree in Israel and received a Bachelors degree with honors from Brooklyn College. He will be entering Cordoza Law School in New York City in the fall.  His father is spiritual leader of Beth Israel of Westport/Norwalk.  His mother directs the Beth Israel Hebrew School and the Circle of Friends program.
The groom’s father, Rabbi Yehoshua Hecht, will officiate at the couple’s wedding on June 29 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
