STAMFORD - Isaac Shalev of Stamford took this photo of a group of Arab Israeli boys as they enjoyed the afternoon jumping from the sea-wall in Akko into the Mediterranean. The boys, who were no older than 12 or 13, would then climb up a jagged section of wall and repeat the process. Their courage in leaping into the water, despite lurking shoals and boulders, says Shalev, was astonishing. The photo, taken in Oct. 2010, is part of an exhibit of photographs taken in Israel by Connecticut residents currently on display at the Stamford JCC.
