Netti Allweiss z”l of West Hartford, dearly loved sister of Helga Allweiss, died Thursday, March 10, 2011.  Funeral services were held on Friday at the Young Israel of Hartford with burial at the United Synagogues Cemetery, Waverly St., Hartford.  Netti was born in Berlin, Germany and came to Hartford in 1939.  She witnessed the horrors of Kristalnacht which always remained with her.  She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Leo and Mali Allweiss, and her brother Al.  Netti leaves a legacy of great integrity and of loyalty to her faith, her family, and her many friends.  She was a dear and gracious woman who lived her life with dignity and who reached out to the joy and the pain of others.  She was held in high regard by those fortunate enough to know her.  She loved the Land of Israel which she visited nine times.  Netti was a long time devoted member of the Young Israel of Hartford, a life member of the Hebrew Academy and of Hadassah, and supported many worthy causes both here and in Israel.  Donations in her memory may be made to Hadassah, the Sigel Hebrew Academy or a charity of the donor’s choice.
