Edith (Rosenbaum) Epstein

Edith (Rosenbaum) Epstein, 93 years of age of Simsbury, died peacefully Friday, Feb. 25, 2011.  She was the widow of Louis Epstein. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Bella (Bobrowitz) Rosenbaum. She owned, with her late husband, Rosedale Farm in Simsbury which has been in the Epstein family for five generations. For 60 years, she was a member of Agudas Achim Synagogue. She leaves her son, Marshall Epstein and wife Lynn, daughter Sandra Bourke and husband Robert; five grandchildren. Jeffrey Bourke and his wife Lisa, Julie (Bourke) Shirazi and her husband Babak, Mandy McCullough and her husband Mike, Lisa Kozlowski and her husband Jon, and Kate Epstein; four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Riley and Keegan McCullough, and Maya Bourke. She cherished her family and they were the center of her world. She was predeceased by her brothers, Aaron, Frank, Morris, Philip, and Oby Rosenbaum, and her sisters Anna Karp, and Lillian Rulnick. Prior to coming to the farm, she worked at the former G. Fox & Co. Edith enjoyed reading, knitting, UConn basketball, and following the weather. She was generous, kind, selfless and very hard working and will be truly missed. Memorial Contributions may be made to Ct. Hemophilia Society, P.O.
