Barbara (Umanoff) Birnbaum, 74, of West Hartford, died March 5. She was the wife of Robert J. Birnbaum. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Florence Umanoff. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Margot Birnbaum of Boston, Carol (Adam Manacher) Birnbaum of Cambridge, Paula (Neil Solomon) Birnbaum; her brother David (Shelly) Umanoff; and her grandchildren, Daniel, Jonathan, Jordan and Mariel.
