Optician featuring Israeli artist’s frames

Ronit Furst Eyewear

FAIRFIELD – Optical Alternatives is now importing hand-painted fashion eyewear from Israel. Optical Alternatives, the new eyewear store that opened on Fairfield’s Black Rock Turnpike in 2010, has announced that it has added the line designed and produced by well-known Israeli artist and designer Ronit Furst.
In 2002, building on her passion for sculpture, Furst turned her talents to painting optical frames.  Each frame is individually hand painted with patterns in a wide range of colors. The line is now being featured in shops throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia and South Africa.
“Ronit Furst has taken the eyewear world by storm with her spectacular line of individually hand-painted frames,” said optician and store manager Glenn Bemus.  “Each of her frames is unique and each is, in its own right, a work of art.  Her collection certainly gives new meaning to the term ‘eye candy.'”
For a look at Ronit Furst’s line of Israeli eyewear stop in at the Optical Alternatives trunk show on Sunday, Jan. 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
