Fairfield residents honored

Sue and Henry Angel

FAIRFIELD – More than 230 well-wishers gathered to honor Fairfield residents Roy Friedman and Sue Angel at The Jewish Home of Fairfield’s Women’s Auxiliary 2010 Fall Gala, held on Oct. 28 at the Water’s Edge in Darien.

David Cohen, executive vice president of Standard Oil, paid tribute to Friedman, his father-in-law, and the Home’s chairperson, Bill Sims, presented him with the Arthur and Gladys Lunin Humanitarian Award. Corrine Lotstein of Stamford presented the award named for her late husband, Louis, to Sue Angel who has been a Home volunteer for more than 30 years and, like Lotstein, serves as a Women’s Auxiliary Honorary Director for Life.

“For decades, Roy and Sue have given their support to the residents of The Jewish Home and the residents of Fairfield County,” said Andrew H. Banoff, President and CEO of the Home. “Presenting these significant awards gives everyone the opportunity to thank them personally and publicly.”

The Board of Directors of the Women’s Auxiliary will allocate $110,000 from this event to support many important programs for the residents of the Home.
