Baking Loaves of Love in Storrs

Students crowded into the AEPi house for the Loaves of Love event

Close to 60 sorority and fraternity members belonging to AEPhi, AEPi and Theta at UConn joined forces with the campus Chabad on Nov. 16 to bake challah for a good cause.

Students crowded into the AEPi house for the Loaves of Love event in which each person baked two challahs: “One to give away, and one to keep,” said Shaindel Hecht, director of Chabad at UConn. After the challahs were baked, the loaves were packed into gift bags designed by the students and delivered to area seniors. Begun in 2008, Chabad at UConn plans to hold a Loaves of Love event each month.
