Cindy Sheehan and Israel

It started right after 9/11, and it continues now. Cindy Sheehan, the Gold Star mother and anti-war protestor who camped in front of the President's ranch in Crawford, Texas, is but another manifestation of the "blame Israel" mindset that the left has echoed consistently and pathologically since modern Israel came into being. Notwithstanding her denials, there is plenty of evidence that Sheehan has continually said that her son went to fight for America, not "die for Israel." It took more than a week for this and other quotes by her to be noted in the media. Naturally, it was FOX News and the internet that reported it early, forcing the big networks eventually to grudgingly follow. But that anti-Israel reference is at the core of her belief system as it is the basic tenet of the hard-core anti-war left in our country.
Meanwhile, the notorious antisemite and ex-Klansman, David Duke, gloats over her success in getting media attention and writes of the similarities of her views and his about Jews. This is something that sincere, genuine objectors to U.S. efforts in Iraq have to deal with and the media's purposeful avoidance of inconvenient facts about the anti-Israel bias of the anti-war movement is something we all have to face.
